I just got this lamp and put it together. The poles screw together, like many similar lamps. The threads in the middle were fairly loose. They easily became crossthreaded and then would the top pole would come off with the slightest push. This made it difficult to put it in the right spot after i had it assembled. I ducktaped around the seam of the poles after i got them screwed together as best i could. A little bit tacky, but completely hidden by the shade, so i don’t mind terribly. I bought this lamp as it was more light with a less expensive price. The pitch of the threads should have been deeper, as well as the sections to screw them together.
I hate the floor lamp market; if you want something that looks contemporary but classy and not cheap looking, there isn’t really much out there in this price range. Everything that ‘looks’ expensive, is very expensive (well above $100). Now comes this adesso floor lamp. The construction is super easy, you just screw together the rod, attach it to the wood base, and slide on the rice paper shade. The end result is a very beautiful and sexy looking floor lamp which looks like it cost at least $200 dollars more than what the real price was. The base itself is super heavy and solid, and a very nice dark red wood finish with a bit of shine. The silver metal rod is solid, and thick enough and gives a contemporary feel to the whole thing. The rice paper shade is solid as well, and thick enough to provide enough light diffusion for a whole living room with just one bulb. I can’t imagine putting bulbs in all three sockets, which this has, because it would probably light up a whole house. Overall i am very pleased with the cost-to-value ratio of this lamp and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for this style of floor lamp for their home.
It was super simple to assemble, just screw the poles together and hang the shade. The power cord is already threaded through them for you. Looks great and is made with sturdy materials. A nice heavy wood base, and thick metal pole. The price may seem a little high, but you get what you pay for.
- Great in an office setting
- Worth the price. Exactly.
- I hate the floor lamp market
We bought these in preparation for our new sectional sofa, and to be honest, they look way too nice next to our old recliner and leather couch. The base is solid wood and very heavy, so no need to worry about our 20 month-old turning them over. We also used the recommended bulbs and unlike some of the other reviews, i think they’re very bright. The rice paper shade enhances the light big time. We may bump down to one or two bulbs if we decide its just too bright.
Yes, i read all the other reviews about the packaging, and they were right. I assembled mine outside and the packing mess was kept to a minimum. I must say that it went together easily and is attractive, sturdy, and will blend with a lot of decors. I used led bulbs in the unit so there is not much energy costs, and the shade diffuses the light giving off the light needed, but not glaring into your eyes as some lamps seem to do. Choose the correct output from the bulbs to suit your needs, and i think that you will be pleased with it as i am with it. Yes, the floor switch is not of the most durable type, but i have it switched on/off by another means, so it is not a big factor to me, but consider this in your decision to buy or not.

Base and pole are beautifully finished. Shade seams are visible regardless of angle because there are two. The pole doesn’t sit well so it leans slightly and can’t be adjusted adequately to compensate because if the pole is screwed in further the cord won’t emerge on the wall side without fully exposing seams.
It is easy to setup and i do see the three individual bulbs lit up when it is turned on just like the picture. My one complaint is that the lamp is not perfectly straight after setup. The quick fix is to turn it so that you don’t see it not being straight.
These are beautiful, i bought two – one for my bedroom and one for my living room and i love them. The light bulbs are kinda bright but that’s an easy fix. They are a paper type material so if you have a mischievous kitty, beware.
This is a very good lamp with a sleek and stylish design which gives out a good amount of light which is what i was looking for. I use energy saving light bulbs which go unnoticed given the cover. One note, the cover is cylinder or circular in shape and from the pictures i was somehow given the impression it had square or rectangular like properties. Also, this product may be a tad bit overvalued but this is the price lazy shoppers such as myself are willing to pay. Nonetheless, i think i will purchase another given the open spaced nature of my dwelling, the two shall compliment each other quite nicely, in my humble opinion.
If you use led bulbs, you can get great filtered light, at low wattage. Comes packaged with bulbs which are adequate, but i wanted a little brighter in our main living room. Gives a significant amount of light in our high, vaulted ceiling great room.
The lamp was much taller and sturdier than what i expected. It was easy to put it together. I bought it for my bedroom, but it was so good i replaced it with the one in the living room. The wood base is quite visible and makes it look even more grand. I have bought flimsy lamps from ikea and this lamp for the price is a great buy. Highly recommended for those seeking a modern/contemporary touch.
Ordered 4 lamps and upon setting up the 4th lamp discovered the 1st 3 lamps have 2 seams on shades whereas the last shade has about 8 seams. And they can’t send me only a shade replacement i would have to return the whole lamp. Well i decided it would be best to say the lamp has character. Such a delightful change than the old boring lamps and shades in the old days. Foot control is nice too although we use the dimmers.
– as others have noted, the box should be opened outdoors, or at least in a room without carpet or upholstered furniture. The foam packing materials have disintegrated, and tiny particles made clingy by static electricity will be everywhere. – the black power cord had several sticky white stains, probably melted packing material. I hope to be able to remove them. – threading the three pipes together was difficult, because the threads are machined poorly. It’s very easy to cross-thread them. I found a little wd-40 to be helpful. – the bulbs will be very visible as three bright spots, not blended light. This may or may not be a problem for you.
But with 3-100 watt bulbs, it can be seen from outer space. I had to loosen 2 bulbs to make it reasonably bright. But it’s well made, and super easy to assemble.
The shade is a little flimsy, it’s the typical rice paper with the wire in it so it collapses down flat. If you use the three 100-watt bulbs like it says it takes, the light is blindingly bright. I swapped out the 100-watt bulbs for 75’s, then 60’s then finally put one 40-watt bulb in it and the light is finally low enough for my living room. In some pictures of this lamp the shade looks square, but it’s actually round. Although it’s kind of nice, and fills the spot i needed light for, i think in retrospect the price is pretty high for what you get.
The lamp is exactly as pictured and easy to assemble. It also gives off an ample amount of light. My boyfriend was somewhat adamant about not using yellow light bulbs (i honestly don’t know why, but i ran with it) so our lamp gives off a bright white light. The paper is thankfully thick enough to keep our living room from looking like a super market and not too thick to fail to light up the entire room. What we ended up with is a soft white light and its absolutely perfect for what we need. If you read some of the other reviews about messy packaging, those reviewers are absolutely correct. It was very noticeable when the box arrived that it had been sitting at a warehouse for months. The tape was picking up dust and black around the edges, the styrofoam was disintegrating, and little styrofoam bits were littered across the floor within in minutes of unpacking the lamp. A quick vacuum was able to rectify this so i wouldn’t knock off a star just for a minor inconvenience. Overall, this lamp has been holding up well for the few months i’ve had it and provides an ample amount of light.
There isn’t a bad thing about these lamps from any stand point: tall, great lighting, made well and they look great. I bought two, but i only use one because that’s how much light they point out even though i’m only using 60 watt bulbs. But i will say adesso really cheaped out on the packaging which is two pieces of low quality styrofoam between two thin sheets of cardboard wrapped together with a lot of tape. Styrofoam went everywhere, that was 2 months ago and i’m still finding little white balls in my apartment.
Floor switch ‘click’ gave out the other day so the lamp is off unless i hold the switch down. Replacement foot switches are on amazon – this three-pack is exactly the same switch if you want to replace it and have extras:https://www. Com/gp/product/b01e0zamm6original review: great lamp, easy to set up, good light, looks good, price is right. Bulb options were confusing: i tried 100-watts equivalents in it and it was too bright as well. My living room has no lights of its own but with the 100 watts it was too bright to even look at. I tried both 2100k and 6500k, both were too bright. Then i tried 75 watt equivalent cfls at 2100k, still too bright. Ended up with all 3 at 60-watt equivalent (2100k) and those were fine. Then for kicks i tried the phillips 60-watt equivalent dimmable bulbs at 2700k to 2100k. Those were pretty much the same as the 60-watt cfl’s at 2100k but at least i could dim them with a dimmer i already had. I’d recommend the 60-watt bulbs because they are much less expensive than the led’s and the light is more than enough.
This is a beautiful lamp, and i have had many compliments on it. Be very careful when moving, picking it up or changing the bulbs, don’t pull down, the rice paper shade will rip very easily. I couldn’t find a replacement shade, luckily mine ripped in a small section on top and i was able to place that side again the wall and it doesn’t show. It sits on a 10-inch wide wood block and has a rich walnut finish. The on/off foot-step switch is nice and easy to use. The rice paper shade measures around 43 inches high and 12 inches in diameter. The lamp uses 3 100-watt bulbs, but i like a softer warmer look and use 75 watt. Really adds a nice touch to any room, i would recommend it.
This lamp is of exceptional high quality. The metal poles are very thick and the base wood(which is beautiful) is solid dense wood. 00, this lamp is an awesome deal. It give light very well and the shade is pretty. It is very tall and almost as tall as me. I love retro modern furniture and i will be giving adesso my repeat business. Update: it’s been many years since i have had this lamp now and it is still awesome.
Love this lamp, easy to put together,. I do not have a ceiling light, but this lamp lights up my entire living room. Have checked other sites for this lamp, but amazon was the cheapest. Have had lots of compliments, in fact i am ordering another for a friend. When putting the lamp together don’t forget to clip the bottom of the shade to the pole or it will not stand straight.
Don’t think it’s worth 75 bucks. Shipping packaged was terrible. It does look different i guess modern. Assembly was very easy which is appreciated. If i could give 3 1/2 stars that’s more accurate. Some people might love it and i understand.
The design is solid with no rips or tears of the rice paper upon delivery. Setup very easily and everything works as described. The only discrepancy between what i got and what i expected was that 1) the light bulbs are very densely oriented within the lamp (closer to the middle and not all spread out like the image above implies) and 2) that unless you go for the 100 watt bulbs it may be tough to light up an entire room with 2 of these (i bought 2 60 watt equivalent bulbs and it lights up the room but the other side still appears slightly dim and i wish i purchased 100 watt ones).
