As a programmer with stand-up desks, i find this chair a great help. The perch position helps for lower back problems.
The chair is perfect painting.
I’ve been wanting this for a few years but was nervous to purchase. Now i’m kicking myself for not buying it sooner. It’s great for painting or tasks where you need to be more mobile.
Purchased this as a gift for my girlfriend for christmas. She’s an artist and she loves it. She spends multiple hours a day sitting in it and it suits her needs very well. She got a new drafting table for christmas and this is an excellent match.
- Worth the price – great features and very comfortable
- Just what I needed.
- Great for a workspace
Alvin DC206 Synchro-Tilt Painters Stool
- Height and tilt can both be easily adjusted.
- Set of non-slip floor glides.
I am somewhat disappointed in this stool. I personally would like a larger top surface to sit on, and a large back support. The basic structure is study but i find i shy away from using it because i feel a little shaky sitting on it. It rocks back into a position which is good for your back and i will have to see how that plays out in the long run. I think it is highly over priced for what it is. Were it half the price, i might feel more flexible in my having bought it. Meanwhile, i hope it ends up proving to be better than what i have experienced so far.
It’s a really nice stool and i rated it 5 stars but one issue found after opening the package. The plastic bushing which holds the hieght adjustment lever in place was broken. I easily fixed it with super glue so not harm done. Very sturdy and love how it adjusts so you can stand or sit depending on what your doing. Great stool for painting with a french sketch box.
I like to stand or prop myself on a tall stool while doing my watercolor painting. At my art class i have the high stools i need, but at home my “office” chairs was too low and other wooden stools i had were too high. The net/net was i started my work seated, but found myself standing within a few minutes and continued to work that way for hours. I’d often want to continue painting but my back was screaming “no more”.This chair has lots of height and tilt adjustment. No more pain while i’m painting.
Have had some back problems and my pt recommended that i work at a standing desk instead of sitting in a chair at a desk. However standing writing reports sometimes for an hour at a time can be very fatiguing so i wanted something that would allow me to maintain good posture and provide me with opportunities to sit if needed at a standing desk. It easily adjusts from a chair height to a standing height ( i am 5′ 2″). This chair is perfect for standing or sitting and is reasonably priced, easy to put together and seems sturdy. Everyone that looks at my chair has to try it out and are amazed that it is actually comfortable. Highly recommend this chair.
The lift simply doesn’t work, so i won’t be able to use it as i planned. However, it is a good sturdy seat and i’ll be able to use it for other purposes.
This is a great chair for me as i have problems standing for any lenght of time. And as i am a quilter and have to cut out fabric this chair works great at my cutting table. I also use it in the kitchen when cutting up vegetable or cooking that requires me to stand. It is higher than a regular chair to start with, about the height of a bar stool and adjusts higher. I had a hard time finding a high stool that had wheels and this one fits the bill.
I use this at my stand up desk at work. It goes nice and high and the seat tilts a little so i can get some of my butt on it without really sitting. I have no complaints and it is built well. This was a bargain at the price i paid.
This is a perfect perch to have by my easel. A little assembly is required but it is minimal, once together it is very sturdy.
Well i having sat on for long periods, so far, so good. Easy to adjust, lets you get it at the right height.
This chair is really easy to put together, and if you are standing most of the time and just using it to lean on occasionally it might be ok. But the seat is hard and if you are leaning you would use the flat inserts where the wheels go to prevent rolling, which is what i did. The base of the chair simply sits inside the wheel base so when you pick the chair up to move it, the base falls off. So i got tired of putting the base back on since i didn’t use the wheels it was the only way to move the chair. I returned it and they were nice about it and i have nothing bad to say about the whole experience. So if you don’t use it that way, it would be a fine chair.
This stool was easy to assemble (10 minutes), and comes with an option of putting feet instead of rollers on it. Also, the rollers can each be locked to temporarily prevent rolling. The stool is comfortable and raises/lowers easily. Plus it’s great for good posture.
This chair is for one thing and one thing only. When i sit in this chair things get done. Not the most comfortable but like i said it helps me get the job done. In stores it’s almost double.
Good for posture but seat is a bit hard.
I definitely like this chair. I can sit on it or simply use it for some support while standing. Another feature that was an unexpected surprise – you get two options for how mobile the stool is. You can choose wheels or no wheels. The wheels have a locking mechanism if you want to temporarily immobilize it. One of issues i have had with my drafting chair is that if i lean forward over my work, the chair would drift back away from the table. The stool doesn’t move unless i want it to. I am also very overweight and this stool handles my weight without any issues. There are very few stools that will support 300 lbs. I admit that my weight might, over time, ‘kill’ the hydraulics but for now i am extremely happy with stool.
Totally what i was looking for and super easy to put together. I was surprised how high the hydraulics went. I wanted something higher than the office chair i was using for my craft projects and this fit the bill. Maybe an inch shorter would’ve been nice but it’s a great upgrade to what i had.
Often in the past, when painting, i needed to give my aching feet& legs a break. But if i went to sit down it just broke the connection i had with the canvass. This stool is a marvelous acquisition to my studio. Now i can give my body the relief from the start and not sever that strange link between canvass and artist. That is the esoteric experience i enjoy when painting (it is, i would hazard to guess. ) regardless, this stool gives me the escape from painful standing (i have a neuromuscular disease).
I attached a pad to the seat with velcro much better now. Wish it had a greater seat height adjustment and more angle to the seat. The wheel locks are in the way find myself inadvertently stepping on them and locking the wheels.
What ever all the instruments are and extra. You’re getting your money’s worth. With this chair, i get a lift.
